Board-Certified, Small-Animal Surgeon

Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii (VERC), Hawaii’s first veterinary emergency + specialty hospital, is seeking a board-certified, small-animal surgeon to join our thriving practice.

Located in the heart of Honolulu, VERC specializes in emergency services, surgery, internal medicine, oncology and diagnostic imaging for pets across Hawaii. Our emergency service is staffed with highly-trained veterinarians who help us provide outstanding patient care 24/7.

VERC is equipped with in-house laboratory equipment, digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy and CT scan, and we have access to off-site MRI.

Full-Time Cardiologist

Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii is currently seeking a board-certified cardiologist (or residency trained veterinarian, actively pursuing board-certification) to join our growing team!

VERC is an independently-owned 24 hour emergency and specialty referral hospital located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Our exceptional staff includes specialists in internal medicine, surgery, oncology, radiology, and anesthesia, as well as several highly trained and experienced emergency veterinarians. Veterinary Technical Assistant / Kennel Hand

Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii is currently accepting applications for a friendly, efficient, hard-working Veterinary Technical Assistant / Kennel-Hand. This is a great entry-level position in the exciting and rewarding field of emergency veterinary care. Your basic responsibilities will be to back-up and assist the technicians with their patients and work-load. Your tasks will be varied and you will need to be flexible and open to learning new things.

As a busy veterinary emergency and referral center, we will need you to help out with all of the basic needs of our technical staff and doctors. You will be in charge of laundry, basic animal clean up and feeding. Helping to answer telephones, general clean up, restocking supplies and inventory as well as some patient check-in and discharge, will all be part of your work regimen.

If you love working with animals as well as a friendly proficient support team, this job will suit you well. Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii are seeking a qualified candidate for a part-time Equipment Manager. The right candidate will have an interest and background in veterinary medical equipment to include Abaxis lab equipment, Anesthesia machines, BP monitors, Defibrillator, Dopplers, EKG, Pulse Oximiters, Endoscopy, Oxygen Sensors, Oxygen and Nitrogen delivery and Anesthetic scavenging systems. We could train the right candidate from other backgrounds if they are organized, dependable, hard-working and adept with the handling of sensitive, expensive, electronic equipment.

Medical Equipment Manager

The Equipment Manager will be responsible for keeping equipment and accessory logs current. This individual will conduct routine maintenance and repairs, to be done in house when possible and oversee the shipping and receiving of equipment to be sent out for repairs when needed.  VERC’s Equipment Manager will obtain repair estimates to be presented to the admin. team for approval on major repairs. You will be responsible for keeping parts and accessories organized and training staff on correct operation and handling of equipment as needed.  You will work in unison with the Inventory Manager and Director of Operations as well as other team members to ensure that our hospital equipment is fully functional and readily available. As this is a new position, we initially envision this role to require 8-16 hours weekly. Daytime hours are preferable in order to effectively overlap with technical support teams working mainland hours. This would be a great position for the right person and you will be rewarded with a competitive salary and a very friendly, positive working environment with room for advancement.
